Tuesday afternoon police say they observed a man and woman sitting in a motor vehicle that was parked in a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Speedvale Avenue West in the City of Guelph. They were observed to be smoking illicit substances from a clear pipe.
Upon approaching the vehicle, police observed the female in the backseat with two dogs, and the man in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition. They were subsequently arrested at 1:22pm.
Further investigation revealed that the male was impaired by drugs and was on conditions not to communicate with the female.
A 41-year-old Palmerston male has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs
- Fail to comply with a judicial release order
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
A 29-year-old Guelph woman was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance.
