Police still investigating fatal Thursday collision where driver, 94, killed pedestrian

Police say the driver remained on the scene and was cooperative

Police investigate the scene on Eramosa Road at the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot where a pedestrian was killed Thursday afternoon.

Guelph police say two pedestrians were hit and one killed in Thursday's incident at the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot on Eramosa Road.

Police say approximately 3:30 p.m. a Chevrolet sedan leaving the parking lot of a retail store on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North struck two pedestrians who were walking across the parking lot to enter the store.

As a result of the collision, a 72-year-old Guelph woman sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 74-year-old Guelph man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Guelph General Hospital.

The driver of the sedan, a 94-year-old man from Guelph-Eramosa Township, remained at the scene and was cooperative.
