ERIN - Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft from an automated teller machine (ATM) that occurred at 152 Main St., Town of Erin.
On Sept. 18, 2017 at approximately 1:04 a.m., three suspects entered the Royal Bank branch at 152 Main St., Erin and obstructed the security cameras in the area. Over the next hour and a half, the suspects used tools to pry open the ATM and removed three cash trays.
The suspects then departed the bank with the cash trays and all the equipment they brought to the scene. The cash trays were located emptied and discarded near the bank.
All three suspects wore motorcycle helmets and used gloves to conceal their identity.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and any person with information regarding this incident should contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. OPP are also asking that anyone who observed suspicious parties in the area in the days prior to this incident to please call. The suspects may or may not have been operating motorcycles.
