Following a slate of eight collisions in 24 hours, police are encouraging people to ease off the gas pedal.
Between Thursday and Friday morning, officers also received two driving complaints.
“With the winter weather here and the road conditions being slippery at times, the Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to slow down and follow the rules of the road to help ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely,” states a police news release.
The city saw several centimetres of snowfall throughout that period.
According to Environment Canada, the temperature stayed below the freezing point and wind chills reached double digits into negative territory during the evening.
Wind gusts topped out around 50 kilometres an hour between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday.
