Non-student arrested for sexual assault on U of G campus

A Brampton man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted Wednesday evening on the University of Guelph campus, Guelph police report.

Approximately 7:30 p.m. Guelph police were called to the university’s library, where officials with the Campus Safety Office were speaking to an adult female. She reported she was followed into the building and sexually assaulted by a male unknown to her. The victim was not physically injured.

Just before 9 p.m. Campus Safety officers located and arrested the person. A 28-year-old Brampton man, who is not a U of G student, is charged with sexual assault. He will appear in court next month.
