The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:
Fail to remain investigation
On May 10, 2020, at 3:25 p.m., a collision occurred in a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road in the City of Guelph. A parked vehicle was struck. The responsible vehicle did not remain at the scene and did not report the collision to the Guelph Police Service.
The Guelph Police Service is looking to speak with the owner of the Toyota Tundra pictured. The truck may have damage to the right rear wheel area and is described as having a brown interior.

Male arrested after refusing to leave
On May 8, 2020 at 7:26 p.m., the Guelph Police Service was contacted in regards to an adult male who was refusing to leave a residential building located near the intersection of Willow Road and Dawson Road in the City of Guelph.
At 7:31 p.m., police located the male and found him to be in possession of a can of beer. Further investigation revealed that he was currently on a Probation Order with numerous conditions including “Do not buy, possess or consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances.” He was subsequently arrested.
A search incident to arrest revealed 3.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine valued at $350.
A 27-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance (Schedule I)
• Breach probation x2
He will appear in court on Aug. 18.
Male arrested for failing to stop for police
On May 9, 2020 at 9:10 a.m., police observed an adult male driving near the intersection of Brant Avenue and Victoria Road North in the City of Guelph at a high rate of speed with a loud exhaust and heavily tinted windows covered with some snow.
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, and the vehicle did stop momentarily near the intersection of Victoria Road North and Speedvale Avenue East, before fleeing the area at a high rate of speed and swerving around other vehicles. A pursuit was not initiated due to public safety concerns.
At 11:40 a.m., police located the male and he was subsequently arrested.
A 20-year-old Kitchener male has been arrested for:
• Unnecessary noise
• Flight from police
• Dangerous operation
• Drive with windows coated (view obstructed)
• Fail to stop when signaled to do so by a police officer
He will appear in court on Aug. 18.
Commercial break-in
On May 9, 2020 at 2:24 a.m., two males and a female entered a commercial compound located near the intersection of Southgate Drive and Laird Road in the City of Guelph. Entry was gained as a hole was cut in the fence.
Two vehicles inside the compound were entered, but nothing was taken from the vehicles. However, $100 worth of copper was taken from inside the compound.
The first male is described as:
• Wearing a light coloured jacket with hood up, dark pants (possibly jeans) and sneakers
The second male is described as:
• Wearing a dark hoodie with hood up, a light jacket, dark pants and sneakers
The female is described as:
• Wearing a dark coat with hood up, dark pants and carrying a backpack
