A Thursday disturbance has led to attempted murder and other charges for a Guelph man.

Just before 7 a.m., a passerby reported an injured male walking along Arthur Street South. An officer found him in the area of Wellington Street East and Neeve Street.

Further investigation led police to a nearby home, where they observed signs of a struggle and found a second male suffering from injuries to his head and face, a police news release explains. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old Guelph man is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery and breaking into a residence to commit an indictable offence.

“The involved males are known to each other and this was a targeted incident,” the release states.
