Drug investigation leads to arrest of Guelph man

In August of 2018, the Guelph Police Drug Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of fentanyl. Over the course of two days, the male was observed meeting various individuals in a manner consistent with drug transactions.

On Aug. 31, 2018 at approximately 1:50 p.m., a male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. Search incident to arrest and Police located what was believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine. Police also located over $3,300 in cash.

Kyle Benoit, a 26-year-old Guelph male was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, breaching his probation order and well as breaching an OIC undertaking.

Benoit appeared in court on Sept. 1, 2018.
