A Guelph man faces drug and weapons charges after he was arrested Saturday on an outstanding warrant.
Shortly after 9 a.m. police were called to a downtown restaurant to remove a male sleeping in the bathroom. Investigation revealed he was wanted for missing a court date in early February on 20 charges.
He was arrested on the outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court. A subsequent search of the man’s property revealed a pellet gun, brass knuckles, a knife and a box cutter as well as small amounts of suspected fentanyl and hashish.
The 33-year-old man is further charged with four counts of possessing controlled substances, unauthorized possession of a weapon, three counts of breaching probation and failing to comply with a bail order. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
