Renovating Belwood Hall is currently estimated to cost between $800,000 and $875,000.

BELWOOD — The cost to renovate Belwood Hall continues to climb as the township enters the project's next phase.

According to a presentation coming to the Health Communities Advisory Committee next week, the estimated budget to renovate Belwood Hall is currently sitting between $800,000 and $875,000.

In the 2025 budget, about $450,000 in OLG funds were earmarked for the Hall's accessibility design and implementation.

Originally built in the 1870s, staff said the renovations are intended to improve the hall's accessibility while modernizing the facility and replacing aspects at the end of their lifecycles.

Potential renovations are earmarked for five areas: the Hall's washroom, front/entrance, kitchen/servery, stage/storage, and floors and windows.

Construction is anticipated to start in September and end in April 2026. The project is in its design and costing phase.

An updated and revised budget estimate is planned to come to council in the second week of April.
