Speeding boss gets employee's car impounded for 90 days

Police say the man borrowed his employee's Mustang and it didn't end well

A Guelph man faces a criminal charge and had his employee’s sports car impounded for 90 days following a traffic stop Wednesday morning, Guelph police report.

Just before noon police were conducting speed enforcement on Gordon Street at Harts Lane when they clocked a 2021 Mustang travelling 75 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to be bound by a condition he not drive a vehicle unless it has an ignition interlock, which the car did not.

Investigation revealed the car is owned by the male’s employee.

A 39-year-old Guelph man is charged with driving while prohibited and speeding. The Mustang was impounded for the mandatory period of 90 days.
