A Guelph man has been arrested after a bouncer at a Guelph bar was attacked and knocked unconscious earlier this month.

Approximately 12:45 a.m. Feb. 16 police were called to a business on Woodlawn Road West. Investigation revealed a male was being disruptive inside the business and was removed by a security staff member, says a police media release.

A short time later the same staff member was dealing with another customer when the first male returned and punched the employee repeatedly in the head, knocking him to the ground, then kicked him several times before fleeing.

The victim was transported to hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion and other injuries.

Through investigation the suspect was identified. On Tuesday night he was located at his home and arrested.

A 37-year-old man is charged with assault causing bodily harm.
