Man and teen charged for entering someone's home and making threats

A Guelph man and teenage male were arrested Tuesday night after a homeowner reported two people walking into his home and threatening him.

Police were called at 11 p.m. to an address near Water Street and Gordon Street. The caller said he confronted two males who had entered the house alleging the caller’s grandson had property that belonged to someone else. As they were leaving one of the males smashed a window.

Officers located the parties a short distance away.

A 34-year-old man is charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, mischief under $5,000 and breaching a probation order. A 17-year-old Guelph boy is charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and failing to comply with a release order. Both were held for bail hearings.
