A Guelph man faces more than a dozen charges after police seized two loaded handguns and nearly $60,000 worth of drugs on Thursday morning.
Earlier this fall, police launched an investigation into an individual trafficking controlled substances in the city, a police news release explains.
Police raided a home in the area of Huron and Ferguson streets, just outside the downtown core, on Thursday morning. A man was found inside, in bed, allegedly with a loaded handgun.
A search of the home reportedly revealed about $59,000 worth of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, two firearms with over-capacity magazines, loose ammunition, nearly $16,000 in cash and four counterfeit bills.
A 29-year-old man is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of counterfeit currency and several firearms offences.
