Guelph residents are in for a treat this holiday season as the Spirit of the Season event transforms downtown into a winter wonderland of family-friendly celebration. The event's grand finale, Children's Day on Sunday, December 15th, promises to be a highlight that will delight kids and parents alike.

“We welcome everyone to the second annual Spirit of the Season in Downtown Guelph. This year, our event is in support of The Children’s Foundation’s Keep Kids Fed at Home program. Children’s Day will be the event’s big finale and we want to send everyone off full of holiday cheer and community spirit,” says Heather LeBar, Project Manager for Spirit of the Season Guelph.

A Magical Day Full of Fun

The day will be packed with free entertainment that promises something for everyone. Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus inside the Old Quebec Street Shoppes between 1:00 and 3:30. For those seeking a bit of mischievous fun, the Grinch will be making appearances as well.

From noon until 5:00, families can explore both outdoor and indoor Christmas marketplaces which offer a magical experience for visitors of all ages. St. George's Square will host the outdoor marketplace, while the Old Quebec Street Shoppes will come alive with indoor festivities that are sure to spark holiday joy.

Young creative minds can enjoy the Mini Makers Market and face painting will be available between noon and 5:00. Princess enthusiasts will be thrilled with the Princess Party running from 1:00 to 4:00.

“Because we want this event to be accessible to everyone in the community, all of the entertainment is free,” says Heather. “We suggest people bring their cameras or cell phones to take pictures of their children with Santa. All kids and kids at heart are encouraged to wear costumes to the Princess Party to add to the festive atmosphere.”

Coming Together for a Great Cause

The event isn't just about fun – it's also about giving back. This year, Spirit of the Season is supporting The Children's Foundation's Keep Kids Fed at Home program. The charity will be present at the indoor market, selling raffle tickets with winners to be drawn at 4:00 on the final day.

Children’s Day at Spirit of the Season promises to be a heartwarming conclusion to this year's holiday celebrations, combining festive cheer, community spirit, and the joy of giving. Guelph residents are invited to come together, create lasting memories, and support a great cause.
