Police say Lexus was clocked doing 131 km/h on Speedvale Avenue

A Guelph man was taken off the road Tuesday after he was caught driving more than double the speed limit.

Just after 2 p.m. Guelph police were patrolling on Speedvale Avenue West near Elmira Road North when he clocked a Lexus travelling 131 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

An 18-year-old is charged with speeding and stunt driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
