Police clock motorcycle doing 101 km/h in 40 km/zone

A Cambridge man traded two wheels for two feet after he was taken off the road for driving more than twice the speed limit in Guelph, police report.

Approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was patrolling on Gordon Street near Terrace Lane when he clocked a motorcycle travelling 101 km/h in a 40 km/h zone.

A 19-year-old was charged with stunt driving and speeding. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.

A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
