A Guelph man died from injuries believed to have been sustained when he fell from an electric scooter last week on Victoria Road.

Emergency services were called last Wednesday night to Victoria Road South near MacAlister Boulevard after passersby located an unresponsive man at the side of the road. The man had sustained serious head trauma and was located next to an electric kick scooter.

The 52-year-old Guelph man was transferred to a Hamilton trauma centre where he has since passed away. Police continue to investigate the incident, but at this point do not believe the man collided with a motor vehicle.

Police would like to hear from any member of the public who may have seen a male operating an electric kick scooter on Victoria Road South between Arkell Road and Stone Road East shortly after 9 p.m. August 16. Police are also seeking members of the public who may have any dashcam video in the area at the time, whether the subject male was observed or not.

No helmet was found at the scene, police said.
