Guelph woman charged with assaulting three police officers

A Guelph woman faces charges after three Guelph Police officers were allegedly assaulted Sunday morning, report Guelph police.

Shortly after 10 a.m. police were attempting to arrest a man downtown on an unrelated matter. A woman began screaming in the face of an officer involved in the arrest and pulled her foot back as if she was going to kick the officer.

A second officer arrived on scene and tried to detain the woman, who kicked him in the shin. She was arrested and transported to the police station, where she kicked another officer while being searched.

A 53-year-old woman is charged with two counts of assault to prevent an arrest and one count of assaulting a police officer. She was held for a bail hearing.
