Guelph police report that one of its constables is facing a professional discreditable conduct charge.
Details of the incident have not yet been made public, nor has the name of the officer.
The constable, who has been with Guelph police for 11 years, has been served a Notice of Hearing under the Police Services Act alleging one count of discreditable conduct, Guelph police said in a news release.
He will appear at a public hearing on Wednesday at 2 p.m. to answer to the allegation of misconduct.
"The allegation stems from a civilian complaint in 2023 to the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD), as it was known before becoming the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency (LECA) earlier this year," said the news release.
The first appearance for this hearing will be held virtually. Interested parties are invited to connect to the proceeding using the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/
