Eric Walters' new book Finding Harmony.

Local author and member of the Order of Canada is coming out with a new book, Finding Harmony.

Eric Walters has written a prequel to his novel The King of Jam Sandwiches. It won a Governor General’s literary award. Finding Harmony is set to be published Feb. 11.

The book is about thirteen-year-old, Harmony, navigating the process of leaving the foster care system so she can go back to her mom, who struggles with drug addiction and alcoholism. It aims to give readers a deeper look at Harmony’s life before she meets her friend Robbie in The King of Jam Sandwiches, a personal story based on Walters’ own experiences.

Walters has authored over 125 books. As a former teacher, he started writing to engage his students in literacy.
