Hundreds will get the chance to get very, very dirty in September to help raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Formely known as the Wellington Warrior Challenge the past five years, the event has now been re-branded as the Mudmoiselle.

It still takes place at Cox Creek Cellars just north of Guelph, this year on Saturday, Sept. 16.

“Much of it is the same as the Warrior Challenge, but there is going to be a whole lot more mud,” said organizer Kaitlynn Barrett.

There will be 25 obstacles set up over a 5km course, many of them wet and many of them very, very muddy.

People are encouraged to register as teams, can join an existing team or can sign up as individuals.

While some Mudmoiselle events around the province limit registration to women, the Guelph event is also open to men.

“We’re calling them ‘mudmonsieurs,’” Barrett said.

People have been having lots of fun with team names. Already registered are: The Mudonnas, Wonder Women, Amudzons, Are We Done Yet? and the Dirty Divas.

The goal of the event is to raise $40,000.

Registration is $50 until Aug. 17 when it increases to $75. Participants are also asked to raise a minimum $150 in sponsorship.

More information and registration forms can be found on the event web site.
