Elora Mohawks win national championship, take home Founders Cup

Team defeated the Hamilton Bengals 10-1 in the gold medal game this weekend

ELORA – Welcomed home by a display from Centre Wellington Fire Rescue last night, Elora's Jr. B lacrosse team is officially the 2024 Founders Cup champions.

While both teams were undefeated heading into the national tournament finals, the Elora Mohawks defeated host Hamilton Bengals 10-1 at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton in the gold medal game on Sunday.

With 27 straight wins, including a sweep of the Ontario conference, the Elora Mohawks achieved a 5-0 record in the Founders Cup.

Led by Brinley Wilson and Evan McDougall, this is the team's sixth National Junior B Championship and first since winning in 2018. 

Saturday's semi-finals saw the Elora Mohawks beat the Victoria Shamrocks 12-7. 

Carter Coffey is the 2024 Founders Cup MVP.
