A rideshare driver will be off the job at least temporarily after he was caught driving more than 40 km/h over the speed limit with two passengers on board.

Approximately 5:10 p.m. Saturday, a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was conducting speed enforcement on Victoria Road North near St James Catholic High School when he clocked a vehicle travelling 91 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

A 60-year-old Guelph man is charged with speeding and stunt driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
