Thanks to an entire village of care and community, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation raised a whopping $185,000 at Taste of Guelph, held on September 15.

Over 750 community members attended the garden-party-style event, held on the beautiful grounds of St. Joseph’s Health Centre.

“In addition,” said St. Joseph’s Foundation Communications Officer, Katie Burnett, “We welcomed over 40 generous community partners who sponsored the event, and 50 local vendors that donated not only their time, but all of the food and drink they provided to our guests!”

Burnett added that about 70 volunteers over two days and three different shifts helped with set up and tear down, ensuring that the event ran flawlessly, and giving each guest a friendly and special experience.

The live auction was an exciting highlight of the event, with eight incredible items to bid on, including a vacation package that offered a seven-night stay in Turks and Caicos, two round-trip tickets wherever WestJet flies and Red Car Service to and from the airport. This year’s auction raised a record-breaking amount; over $50,000 was generated thanks to the help of auction donors and bidders, all to support the purchase of vital medical equipment at St. Joe’s.

The weather was perfect for the outdoor event, and attendees enjoyed mingling in the beautiful gardens, sampling delicious food and drink, bidding on auction items, and chatting with friends new and old.

"Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community through Taste of Guelph, we’ve raised an astounding $185,000 to help fund critical equipment that directly enhances patient care at St. Joe’s," said Jennifer Hall, VP Development at St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation.

She added, "Sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and guests all played key roles in this success. Every dollar raised ensures we can provide essential tools—like these 15 new medication carts—that are vital to the health and well-being of those in our community who require our services."
