Driver fails to remain after collision with young cyclist

Incident happened Friday night in south end, cyclist reported minor injury

Guelph police are investigating after a young man was struck while riding his bike Friday night and the motorist fled the scene.

On Saturday morning police were notified of the collision, which occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Friday at Gordon Street and Kortright Road. An 18-year-old was riding his bike when he was struck by a dark grey or black vehicle, possibly a Mazda.

The female driver did not stop to check on him. The cyclist reported a minor injury.
