After bouncing around Ontario and living in Brampton, Lindsay, Toronto and Goderich I am happy to have landed in the energetic city of Guelph and to be joining the GuelphToday team as a reporter.
With the hidden gems scattered throughout Wellington County, I am looking forward to establishing some roots within the local community and working to providing you with a trusted news source.
Prior to moving here, I worked as a reporter in Huron County for Postmedia, as a social media desk intern in Toronto for Global News and as the editor in chief of the Humber Et Cetera and Humber News Online during my time as a student at the Humber College North campus.
Throughout my career as a journalist, I have developed a fondness for municipal affairs - including municipal council, county council and provincial matters - data analytical reporting and bringing to light important social issues within the community.
Starting with GuelphToday as a freelancer in May, I am thrilled to be joining the team as a full-time reporter with the ability to deepen my connections within the city and bring the readers news they value.
I have always found when moving to a new place it can be lonely, but working in the newsroom is a quick way to meet community members and learn what the community values and discover the best place for entertainment, food and recreational activities.
Having grown up in Brampton, and with three siblings who attended the University of Guelph, I have been been to the area several times over the last decade, but it wasn't until December of 2020 I called Guelph home.
Outside of the newsroom, you can find me exploring Wellington County on my bicycle, soaking in the sun at the beach or under the waves scuba diving. If it's winter, I will be on the hills with my snowboard or on the lake ice fishing.
