Knife brandished during downtown dispute

Guelph police report a man faces weapons and threatening charges after a knife was brandished during a dispute Thursday night.

Approximately 8:30 p.m. a resident near Norfolk Street and Paisley Street reported a former roommate had attended and banged on a glass door while holding up a knife and uttering a threat.

Later in the evening officers located the suspect at another address downtown and placed him under arrest. A 61-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
