Guelph musicians, The Lifers, will perform a free Fourth Friday concert at Guelph Civic Museum Friday, April 27 as local artists mark the opening of Wall of Art: Pride.
The Lifers – sisters Liv and Anita Cazzola – are an art-folk/rock collective. Their intertwined voices dynamically convey vulnerability and strength. Softly plucked strings, accordion swells, and lush cello and upright bass arrangements give way to rip-roaring drums, soaring melodies and overdriven frenetic strums. The Lifers will be releasing their sophomore album in May.
Wall of Art: Pride, a newly relaunched juried art show produced in partnership with Guelph Arts Council, will feature artists from the LGBT2Q+ community. The Wall of Art series aims to showcase the breadth of local talent as well as to provide artists with a unique opportunity to share their work with a larger audience.
This art exhibition launches Guelph Pride 2018: 15 Days Celebrating 15 Years and will continue to July 29, 2018. Wall of Art: Pride features works by K. Lewis, John McGill, Francis Farwell, S. Korey Steckle, Julianna (JT) Murphy, Thunder Savage, Mike Salisbury, Alisa McRonald, TARAS, and Lorette C. Luzajic.
Admission to the Civic Museum on Fourth Fridays is free after 5 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m.
