Six new 'Welcome to Guelph' signs being installed

It's not known when all six will be installed

A city with a sign is the sign of a city.

Six new "Welcome to Guelph" signs are in the process of being installed at entrance ways to the city.

The first went up on Eramosa Road, just north of Speedvale Avenue East.

Other locations to look out for these new signs include:

  • Woodlawn Road East, west of Elmira Road North
  • Woolwich Street, north of Woodlawn Road East
  • Highway 7, near the Guelph AirPark
  • Highway 124, south of Fife Road
  • Gordon Street, near Maltby Road East

The city had to pay for the production of the signs, but everything else was done in-house, including the graphic design work and the installation. The cost came in at $3,459.50 for all six, and was part of the already-approved operating budget.

The specific project did not have to go to council for approval.

It's not known when the other signs will be put up.
