Three years after a public meeting was held for a proposed residential development on Arkell Road, the developer behind that plan has made a few changes, including the addition of seven units.
Rockpoint Properties is seeking a series of official plan and zoning bylaw amendments that would allow it to build 30 detached homes and 68 cluster townhouses on a 17-acre lot at 220 Arkell Rd.
Previously the plan, submitted in 2020, called for 31 detached homes and 60 cluster townhouse unis.
“Due to comments received from city staff, commenting agencies and comments presented at the public meeting, slight revisions have been made to the draft plan of subdivision and zoning bylaw amendment (applications),” explains a letter to the city, submitted on behalf of the developer.
The site – on the north side of Arkell Road, between Gordon Street and Victoria Road – is currently occupied by a single detached home and several accessory buildings, all of which are to be demolished.
Additional revisions include plans to convey an existing Arkell Road driveway to the city for a future public walkway, redesign of the stormwater management facility, increased public walkway/emergency access width and removal of a future road allowance to Poole Street.
