Margaret Greene Park is getting a splash pad

City wants the public's input into the splash pad, which is to be built sometime in 2024

A new splash pad will soon be built at Margaret Greene Park. But the city needs your help with its design.

An online survey is available until April 16 for residents to give input on the design.

According to the city, the splash pad will be built next to the playground in 2024, and will be fully accessible.

A pair of designs have already been released. One, referred to as a modern theme, has concrete seat walls, mounted back benches, colourful shaded areas and more.

The other, said to be a more natural theme, has a few shaded areas shaped like leaves, curved pathways, and a large open space, with seating built in.

The splash pad is replacing the one that closed in 2018 at the West End Community Centre.

Talk of building a splash pad at Margaret Greene Park began in 2017, when city staff identified it as a top location to build one in the next 10 years.
