Hockey fans give the gift of reading at annual Books for Kids Night

Local hockey fans came together to support local children and by donating hundreds of books

GuelphToday hosted the annual Books for Kids Night at the Sleeman Centre on Friday, with all books collected going to the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper program.

Kind-hearted fans attended the game with donations of new, unwrapped books for families across Guelph - ensuring that every child can enjoy the gift of reading this holiday season.

There was also an opportunity to give to the Salvation Army Christmas kettles, helping to provide direct, hands-on services year-round.

Every book donation was thanked with a raffle ticket, with 10 amazing prizes up for grabs. The top prize was a commemorative stick signed by the entire 2023/24 Guelph Storm team!

This fantastic event brought the Guelph community together in support of families less fortunate. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event.
