Heat Warning in effect for:
  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Humidex values reaching 40°C are expected.

Hot and humid conditions will begin Monday.

A hot and humid airmass is forecast to reach the area Monday and remain in place into early Wednesday, before a cold front moves through the region Wednesday afternoon. Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 31°C with humidex values near 40°C. Overnight low temperatures will be near 20°C providing little relief from the heat.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
