WELLINGTON COUNTY – It’s a weekend full of Santa Claus parades around Wellington County with events in Erin, Elora, Clifford, Arthur and Aberfoyle.
Things kick-off in Erin with the Erin Lions Club Santa Claus parade on Saturday.
The parade begins at 11 a.m. on McCullogh Drive and goes south along Main Street to the Erin Fire Station at Erinville Drive. This year’s theme is a storybook Christmas. Food bank donations will be collected.
Saturday night at 6:15 p.m., the Elora Santa Claus parade by the Lions Club goes down Geddes Street then to Colborne Street and North Queen Street. The annual parade of lights finishes at East Mill Street.
Hosted by the Arthur OptiMrs, Arthur’s parade starts at 7 p.m. with a Canadian sports theme. The parade starts at Arthur Public School and travels south on Smith Street at the Arthur RBC.
At the same time, the Clifford Santa Claus parade runs through downtown in the village. Join firefighters in Celebration Square after the parade for hotdogs and pictures with Santa.
Sunday afternoon will be marked by the Puslinch Santa Claus parade in Aberfoyle.
Starting at 2 p.m., the parade starts at the township fire hall and heads along Wellington Road 34 before going south on Brock Road towards the Optimist Recreation Centre where it finishes. Food bank donations and letters to Santa will be collected during the parade.
