The area's most famous pig is heading to Tinseltown.
Esther the Wonder Pig has already had her exploits detailed in a series of books, will be the basis of a new movie, her owners announced on Twitter (@EstherThe Pig).
"We're going to Hollywood!!!" announced her owners Steve Jenkins and Derek Walter on their Facebook page and Twitter account.
"The writers have already been hired, and they'll likely be here at the farm in the next couple of months. "Oh my god!!! Somebody punch me, because I still can't believe this isn't a dream."
Esther resides at the Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary halfway between Guelph and Milton, a farm and education centre that Esther shares with many other rescue animals.
Jenkins and Walter adopted Esther as a piglet in 2012, thinking she was a mini pig and not knowning she would grow into a full-sized 600-pound pig.
They began detailing her exploits via social media and eventually put them into a book, The True Adventures of Esther the Wonder Pig, that would become a bestseller.
Or that Esther The Wonder Pig would become a worldwide social media phenomenon, with her own book, t-shirts, 1.4 million followers on Facebook, 504,000 followers on Instagram and 59,000 followers on Twitter.
"A few months ago we signed a deal with one of Hollywood's largest production companies and a major Hollywood studio, to adapt our books for a feature film. We were obviously ridiculously excited, and so began almost a year of negotiations to make it a reality," Esther's owners announced.
They said the deal is with the same company that made Hotel for Dogs and Free Willy.
One of Esther's roles over the years has been to shine a light on a plant-based lifestyle and promote the ethical treatment of all animals.
That's something her owners are intent on making sure is maintained during filming of the movie.
"There was a ton of discussion regarding the use of animals, including our ability to be on-set anytime we want - specifically when anything other than CGI animals are on-set so we can supervise - and the ability to ensure that if any animal is required for filming they are to be rescued/adopted and they will be guaranteed a forever happy home following production. It was non-negotiable," the announcement said.
