Dublin Street United Church has not one, but two new logos for its 150th anniversary.

The logo design contest launched in January and submissions were due Feb. 2.

And the winners are …

Theo Peirson and Tilly Baker.

Peirson’s design was chosen for the adult category of the contest and Baker’s was chosen for the children under 12 category.

It was difficult to choose the logos since there were many great designs, said in a press release.

Peirson’s winning design is the number 150 and in the zero an image of the church appears.

“At the heart of the logo lies an iconic representation of the church itself, adorned with its cherished stained glass windows. This angle was carefully selected to evoke a sense of familiarity and recognition among both longtime members of the congregation and the broader community,” said Peirson, in the release.

Baker created a design to show what the church means to her.

It has a candle with 150 stamped on it. In the candle’s flame it shows a piano, the congregation, a podium and the reverend.

The church thanks everyone who participated in the contest. The new logos will be used for events and celebrations throughout its 150th year.
