Snow Squall Warning in effect for:

  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Snow squalls expected tonight into Sunday morning.

Hazards: Total snowfall accumulations locally near 15 cm. Peak snowfall rates 2 to 4 cm per hour. Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing: This evening into Sunday afternoon.

Discussion: A few snow squalls are expected to develop this evening as a cold front moves through then may occur at times into Sunday morning before weakening on Sunday afternoon. Blowing snow is also expected with westerly winds gusting up to 60 km/h. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Road closures are possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
