LETTER: 'Bully' police officer should be jailed

'His remorse is disingenuous. He is a repeat offender,' a reader writes

Const. Corey McArthur leaves the University of Guelph University Centre on Wednesday, following his sentencing hearing for professional misconduct.

GuelphToday received the following Letter to the Editor from Denis Williams about our article, Friends of disgraced police officer in favour of his return to work:

I must take issue with the headline "Friends of Disgraced Police Officer In Favour Of His Return To Work".

I know headlines are meant to grab attention, and this one worked on me, but they can also be deceiving. What else would his friends be expected to say?

The man is a loose cannon and a bully and should not only lose his job, he should be put in jail.

Why criminal police get a free ride is beyond me and many people I speak to.

Although I am no longer a Guelph resident, I do have an opinion.

Perhaps the next headline should be "Guelph Residents Are in Favour Of Putting a Bully Cop In Jail."

Let's balance it out.

I'm pretty sure most people want this criminal gone!

His remorse is disingenuous. He is a repeat offender.
