Puslinch resident requests zoning bylaw amendment to store 10 shipping containers

The public meeting will be held Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

PUSLINCH - A local resident is asking for a zoning bylaw amendment to legalize storing cars and seven shipping and storage containers for industrial-use on their agricultural property.

At Wednesday night’s public meeting, James and Wanda Xuereb will be presenting their bylaw amendment request to the public for the rezoning of their land from an agricultural zone and natural environment zone to a site specific agricultural zone.

Their property is located on 4290 Victoria Rd. S.. It’s approximately 73.4 acres in size and contains an existing dwelling, shipping containers, and accessory structures.

The storage and use of the accessory structures are the subject of the zoning bylaw amendment.

However, it is not clear how and for what will be stored in the shipping and storage containers.

The applicants are proposing to locate 10 shipping containers on the property of which four may be rented out for profit, while the remaining six containers will be used for storing personal items.

In addition, they are intending to store four vehicles not associated with the property owner within an existing accessory building and take up limited personal maintenance.

The public meeting will be held Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
