Council approved purchasing the playground with development funds in late March for $153,327. Site preparation and paving cost $21,000 and was funded using the town's Parks and Recreation Services Development Charges Reserve.

“This new playground demonstrates our community’s resilience and will have a very positive impact for residents,” said Mayor Michael Dehn during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “It’s wonderful to see accessible amenities being provided for everyone to enjoy.”

Lions Club Park is set to be closed until late summer 2025.
