WELLINGTON NORTH – Crossing the street just got a little safer at two intersections in Mount Forest and Arthur.

According to a news release from the township of Wellington North, new pedestrian crossings have been installed at Smith Street and Conestoga Street in Arthur and Main Street North and Durham Street West in Mount Forest.

The intersections were earmarked for a new pedestrian crossing last September along with Queen Street East at Parkside Drive and Main Street South at King Street East in Mount Forest.

Each crossing has a pedestrian push button, pavement markings, signs and lights.

Both crossovers will be ready for use following a successful activation on Wednesday, July 3.
