Over the past 24 hours the Guelph Police Service dealt with 235 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Traffic stop for speeding leads to arrest 
On Sept. 10, 2019 at 10:02 p.m., Guelph Police stopped a motor vehicle on Victoria Road North for speeding. In speaking to the male driver, an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected and a demand for a roadside test was made. The driver refused and was arrested.

The 31-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with refuse to provide breath sample as well as speeding under the HTA. His drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days. He will appear in court on Oct. 24, 2019.

Busy shift for arrests on warrants
On Sept. 10, 2019 the Guelph Police arrested seven individuals wanted on warrants.
