The Parada Dentures team has plenty to smile about after being voted a GuelphToday Reader Favourite in the Denture Clinic category for the second consecutive year.
“It’s rewarding to know our community appreciates our efforts. It confirms that we’re on the right path,” says owner Franklin Parada.
Franklin has always been passionate about healthcare and serving his community. He graduated from George Brown College as a Registered Dental Technician (RDT) and began his career as a co-op student at a denture clinic, where he discovered his passion for helping patients obtain dentures. He later returned to school to become a licensed denturist and opened Parada Dentures in 2013. Today, Franklin holds dual licenses as an RDT and denturist.
“I love witnessing the transformation in patients when they receive something that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. We restore their confidence and their ability to chew, which is vital for overall health,” he says.
Franklin prioritizes creating a comfortable atmosphere for his patients. He encourages open dialogue, taking the time to answer questions and listen to their stories. He believes in transparency when explaining procedures and treatment options, ensuring patients understand their goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
“Investing in your oral health is crucial—it’s more important than investing in a car. Dentures have a lifespan and require regular assessments and maintenance. Typically replacements are to be considered every 5-7 years. Many patients are surprised to learn they have dentures that are 20, 30, or even 40 years old, far beyond their recommended lifespan,” he says.
Parada Dentures operates in Guelph and Fergus, with a partner practice in Brantford, all of which accept the new federal government dental care program and other initiatives. Franklin and his team are ready to assist patients with questions about coverage. The clinic specializes in implant-retained dentures, overdentures, and both removable partial and full dentures. They also offer a mobile clinic service, bringing denturist care directly to patients’ homes when needed.
The team stays updated on the latest dental technologies, having invested in intraoral scanners 6 years ago to assist patients with strong gag reflexes who may struggle with traditional impressions. “We’re committed to investing in what’s best for our patients, to provide top of the line quality materials and denture options” Franklin says.
Their compassionate approach is likely why patients chose to vote them a Reader Favourite, a recognition Franklin deeply appreciates.
“We are truly grateful that our patients recognize the care we provide to everyone who walks through our doors. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.”
