A Guelph man faces a number of charges after shooting a bow and arrow in a parking lot near downtown Wednesday.
Just after 11:30 a.m. police say they received a call from a concerned citizen about someone with a bow and arrow in a vacant lot on Surrey Street East. Officers arrived and located a man with a homemade bow and several arrows. He explained he was shooting at wooden targets.
Investigation revealed the man is on two separate probation orders including conditions not to possess weapons. He was placed under arrest and a search revealed a small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing a controlled substance and four counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court.
