On Dec. 22, just before 1:55 p.m. an adult male manager of a business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road East and Woolwich Street, attempted to prevent a lighter valued at $12 from being stolen.

This led to an adult man pushing the manager and a physical altercation that resulted in the male spitting in the manager’s face.

The man then fled on foot.

On Wednesday, at 10:19 a.m., officers located the suspect downtown and he was arrested.

A 42-year-old Guelph man has been charged with robbery.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
