That's nuts! Squirrels may be to blame for Monday car fire

Two squirrels with burns were seen running from the car fire on Stone Road

Squirrels may be to blame for a car fire that badly damaged an SUV on Stone Road Monday evening.

The Guelph Fire Department said it responded with two fire trucks to a vehicle fire at 370 Stone Road West. When firefighters arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

"Two squirrels with burns were seen running from the vehicle. The Guelph Humane Society responded and took an injured squirrel with them. The cause of the fire is undetermined," said deputy fire chief Steven Goode.
