A 17-year-old driver was reportedly stopped by police going 107 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Wednesday.

Police impounded a pickup truck for two weeks on Wednesday night, after the driver was pulled over for allegedly going more than double the speed limit.

The incident occurred Wednesday, at about 10:55 p.m., on Victoria Road near Eastview Road.

An officer was monitoring vehicle speeds when a truck was reportedly spotted going 107 km/h in the 50 km/h zone.

The 17-year-old’s driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 30 days and the vehicle impounded.

Due to the age of the accused, police declined to say if charges were laid.
