UPDATE (11:03 a.m.): Police say the person killed while crossing the Hanlon Expressway this morning was a 65-year-old female from Guelph.

A section of the Hanlon Expressway has been closed this morning following a serious collision that involved a pedestrian being killed
Wellington County OPP confirm that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday while crossing the Hanlon at College Avenue.

The Hanlon is closed from Stone Road to Wellington Street. College Avenue is closed from Janefield Drive to the Hanlon for the police investigation. It is expected to remain closed until midday.
Several bus routes have been temporarily closed and re-routed.
Traffic is backed up on several roads as traffic is being redirected. Expect delays.
