Guelph police are investigating after a young woman was touched and verbally confronted by a stranger on a city bus.

On Thursday a 19-year-old Guelph woman called to report the interaction which took place a day earlier. She said just before 10 a.m. Wednesday she got on a bus downtown and sat near the front. A short time later she heard an unknown male seated near the back yell vulgar comments and ignored him.

The male walked to the front of the bus and stood next to the woman before grabbing her arm and asking why she wouldn’t talk to him. Other passengers gestured the woman to come sit with them and she had no other interaction with the male. She was not physically injured.

The male was described as white, tanned, in his 40s, balding and short with a large belly. He was wearing a grey sweater and carrying a black backpack.
